Because Illinois is practicing an abundance of caution, we have been asked to transition or cancel several student activities for this spring.
The Illinois Secretary of State’s office is taking a number of precautionary measures to limit the possibilities for the exposure of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) at the State Capitol. Permits for all scheduled tours of the Illinois State Capitol Building and all events scheduled to take place at the Capitol Building have been canceled. Also, lobbyists who have lobby days, rallies, or other events at the Capitol Building are being encouraged to alert groups to these cancellations.
As a result of these precautions, and with recommendations to avoid larger crowds and non-vital public events, the following events for spring 2020 are canceled:
- Student Advisory Committee meeting, March 20, 2020
- Phi Theta Kappa Awards Banquet, April 14, 2020-more detailed information to follow
- Student Lobby Day, April 28, 2020
Should you have further questions about any of these events, please contact Mackenzie Montgomery at ICCB.
