The Illinois Community College Board is the state coordinating board for community colleges and has statutory responsibility for administering state and federal grants to community college districts and adult education providers and managing high school equivalency testing for Illinois. The Illinois Community College Board is assisted by an executive director and staff of approximately 50 located in Springfield and Chicago.
Illinois community colleges serve almost 700,000 residents each year in credit, noncredit, and continuing education courses. Illinois is home to 48 colleges in 39 community college districts which provide high quality, accessible, cost-effective educational opportunities to the entire state.

Adult Education and Literacy Division
- Senior Director for Adult Education and Literacy: We invite applications for the position of Senior Director for Adult Education and Literacy. This position will report to the Deputy Director for Adult Education, Workforce, and CTE. This position will be responsible for overall administration of the Adult Education and Literacy division including state and federal grant management, coordination of the instructional providers, English language acquisition and adult basic and secondary education students transition programs to post-secondary education, the high school equivalency testing, and the early school leaver transitions program. Finance and Compliance Division
- Account Technician II: We invite applications for the position of Account Technician II. This position will report to the Director for Finance and Operations. Under direct supervision, the position will be responsible for processing vouchers, checking payment claims, tracking employee time, maintaining agency vehicle records, and other fiscal functions for the office. - Deputy Director for Finance and Administration: We invite applications for the position of Deputy Director for Finance and Administration. This position will report to the Chief of Staff. Responsibilities include over-all administration and supervision of grant administration, financial monitoring and compliance, and internal operations of the ICCB office. Information Technology Division
- Several positions in the IT Department have become vacant, and we are opening new positions. The IT Department works with the following: UNIX, VMWare, Exchange and Windows Servers, DNS Server, Active Directory, Network Administration, SQL Database, COBOL, Fortran, SAS, ColdFusion, and Delphi. These positions are covered under the State Universities Civil Service System. The salary ranges are from entry level at $30,000 to management at $58,100. All ICCB staff are employees of the State of Illinois. Our employment practices are governed by the Statutes and Rules of the State Universities Civil Service System (SUCSS). Within SUCSS, each position is assigned to a civil service job classification that carries its own specific and distinct set of minimum qualifications. Those job qualifications are used in evaluating each applicants’ educational background and experience in order to determine their eligibility for employment.
