 Illinois is home to the third largest community college system in the United States. Through its 45 individual community colleges, the Illinois Community College System is fulfilling its promise as a grassroots powerhouse of equity and opportunity—serving a diverse range of students across urban, rural, and suburban communities. As the state’s largest provider of public workforce training, Illinois community colleges are building a stronger, more resilient Illinois.

Community colleges are increasingly innovative, affordable, and accessible, expanding access for learners of all ages and backgrounds. Nine of 10 community college graduates stay in Illinois, strengthening local workforces and fueling economic growth.
