Lectures and hands-on projects at the introductory level of each topic, including lockpicking, password cracking, Metasploit, data recovery, registry and RAM forensics, Bash and Python scripting, VMware Workstation, vSphere, and vCenter, and leaked NSA exploits.  We will audit and exploit iOS, Android, Windows, and Linux devices.

Lectures, quizzes, and hands-on projects are all freely available at samsclass.info for use in your classes.

Prerequisite knowledge: knowledge of networking at the Network+ level.

Hardware requirements: a computer capable of running VMware Workstation, Player, or Fusion, at least 40 GB of available hard drive space, and broadband Internet.

Data analytics (DA) is the science of examining raw data with the purpose of drawing conclusions about the information. Data analytics is used in many industries to allow companies and organization to make better business decisions and in the sciences to verify or disprove existing models or theories. Learn to become a better data analyst who is able to communicate Business Intelligence (BI) visually. This hands-on workshop is designed for anyone who wants to learn to analyze data from a variety of sources. Starting off with a foundation in data visualization techniques and principles effective data analysis techniques, industry standard visualization best practices are discussed. Through hands-on labs participants learn how to build insightful and interactive dashboards from a variety of data sources. There is an overview of current analytics tools however the focus of this course is the correct use of Microsoft Excel 2016 power tools (Power Map, Power Pivot, Power Query, and Power View), Microsoft Power BI desktop, and Tableau software products. By the end of this workshop, successful participants will become better communicators who are able to produce highly interactive graphs, reports and dashboards that access and visualize data from a multitude of sources. JavaScript is changing significantly with ECMAScript 6. You can use over 95% of the new syntax in modern browsers already (reference: http://kangax.github.io/compat-table/es6/). Learn about the new capabilities and help your students prepare. A basic knowledge of JavaScript (and programming fundamentals) is assumed. We will cover:

  • How to use ECMAScript today
  • Many new features (let, const, gather and spread operators, template strings, object literals, ES6 classes, symbol iterators, and more)
  • How to work with ES6 and Node.js, and much more!

The Internet Of Things (IoT) has exploded into existence.  This class will discuss the concepts behind the technologies involved and then work on implementation to bring those concepts to life.  Focus will be on using the NodeMCU chipset and phone applications like Blynk to create interactive IoT implementations.

The course includes a kit of equipment that will serve as the basis for the lab work as well as a NodeMCU to use during the creation phase.  A smart phone (Android or IOS) will be required to complete all of the labs – everything else necessary will be provided.  The software necessary will be downloaded in class and is free to use.
