Forum for Excellence

The Forum for Excellence is Illinois’ premier professional development event. The conference highlights the continuing partnership of Career, Technical and Adult Education in Illinois. The Forum is sponsored by the Illinois Community College Board, and hosted by the Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support, the Southern Illinois Professional Development Center, and the Central Illinois Adult Education Service Center. A Perkins Administrator Cohort pre-conference session will be held from 10:30a.m.-4p.m. on Monday, September 24. Additionally, Advance CTE will provide an update on Perkins Reauthorization from 2p.m.-4p.m.

A joint report by Advance CTE and the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) that summarizes CTE and career readiness policies across the United States. It represents the only comprehensive national snapshot of state activity related to CTE and career readiness, and provides a critical opportunity for state and national leaders to reflect on national trends and consider future directions. The top five policy focus areas were as follows: funding; data, reporting, or accountability; industry recognized credentials; dual/concurrent enrollment and articulation/early college; and industry partnerships/work-based learning.
