Instructor: Erich Spengler.
Biography: Erich Spengler holds a masters degree from Loyola University of Chicago and has maintained a full-time faculty position at Moraine Valley Community College for the past twelve years. Erich has an extensive background in information technology security and information assurance. He holds several major industry certifications, including CISSP, MCSE, CCNP and CEH. Additionally, Erich has a broad background in LAN/WAN design and infrastructure implementation. Erich currently serves as the Principle Investigator for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Regional Center for the Advancement of Systems Security and Information Assurance. This regional center serves a five-state area of the Midwest and focuses on a field which is critical to homeland security and which has a large demand for qualified workers. The center is collecting, adapting, and enhancing curricula incybersecurity, offering certificate and degree programs, and providing professional development for college faculty in the region.
