Course

MATH 145 (Elementary Statistics)

Description

A calculator program randomly generates data and forms a boxplot. Students are then asked to construct a data set consisting of seven, eight, or nine data values that would produce the given boxplot. This module helps students gain a deeper understanding of how data values affect the Five-Number Summary and boxplots. Further discussions on comparing the mean and median, interpreting boxplots, skewness, and quartiles can be initiated.

Transferability

This module will transfer to any introductory level statistics class, as well as any other class that involves data analysis such as college algebra.
