Alexi Giannoulias Chair Chicago

Alexi Giannoulias is the former State Treasurer of Illinois, serving from 2007-2011. As State Treasurer, Giannoulias focused his efforts on Education Initiatives, Green Energy Projects, Small Business Job Creation, rooting out Inefficiency and Corruption in state government and Enhancing the State's Financial Portfolio during difficult economic times. Giannoulias was elected at the age of 30 and became the youngest state-wide elected official in the United States. Giannoulias has received credit for turning around the Bright Start College Savings program, expanding the office's Scholarship Program, streamlining Investment Services, cutting his Budget while in office, introducing Securities Lending to the portfolio, focusing on Financial Literacy for Illinois students and his Investment Team outperforming all institutional benchmarks every quarter that he served as State Treasurer.
In 2010, he became the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in Illinois; in the general election that followed he lost narrowly to current US Senator Mark Kirk.
Giannoulias was born in Chicago to a family of Greek Immigrants. He graduated cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor's degree in Economics after transferring from the University of Chicago. At BU he played Division I basketball and was named to the America East Conference Academic Honor Roll both years that he played.
After his undergraduate degree, Giannoulias played professional basketball for Panionios B.C. in Europe after which he enrolled at Tulane University's School of Law in New Orleans. After earning his law degree and passing the Illinois Bar exam, Giannoulias took a position as Vice President and Senior Loan Officer at Broadway Bank, a community bank owned by his family.
Giannoulias is currently an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
In August of 2011, Giannoulias was named Chairman of the Board of the Illinois Community College Board.
Giannoulias is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the Illinois Education Foundation, the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center, Leadership 100 and in 2007 was named one of Crain's "40 under 40".

Suzanne Morris Vice Chair Grayslake

Suzanne Morris is a marketing and public relations consultant. Early in her career, Ms. Morris worked as a public information coordinator for the College of Lake County, a community college in Grayslake, and later as a marketing consultant for a number of government and business clients. She serves as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate for children currently in the Department of Children and Family Services system.

Guy H. Alongi
DuQuoin

Mr. Alongi is a Special Project Consultant in Education and resides in DuQuoin. He was the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Perry County Housing Authority for 26 years and retired from that position in 2008. Mr. Alongi was the recipient of the 2006 Illinois Community College Trustees Association Meritorious Service Award, 2006 Action for Children Award, 2004 Southern Illinoisan Leaders Among Us Award, 2004 Educational Council 100 Award, and the David W. Morgan Award for Housing Excellence. In the past, Mr. Alongi has served as pro tem mayor and finance commissioner for the city of DuQuoin, President of the Illinois Association of Housing Authorities, Vice Chairman of the Western Egyptian Opportunity Council, and a former instructor for the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials in Washington, D.C.

Randy Barnette Chicago

Mr. Barnette has a long history of professional involvement with Illinois community colleges. He has served as the Director for Intergovernmental Relations for the City Colleges of Chicago and as Vice President for External Affairs on the Illinois Community College Board. Currently, Mr. Barnette is serving as chief of staff of the Cook County College Teachers Union, the largest community college union in the state, representing 14 colleges in Cook County. Mr. Barnette also serves as the chairman of the College and University Credit Union Board of Directors.

Michael Dorf Chicago

Michael C. Dorf is a founding partner of the Chicago law firm Adducci, Dorf, Lehner, Mitchell & Blankenship, P.C., where his practice includes commercial transactions, election law, and art and not for profit corporation and foundation law. Previously, he served as Special Counsel to United States Rep. Sidney R. Yates (D. Ill.), where he helped to develop national policies on arts and humanities funding, and also worked in the administration of Mayor Harold Washington, where he led the project which created Chicago's first Cultural Plan. He also served as Legal Affairs Consultant to the President's Independent Commission on the National Endowment for the Arts in 1990, and as General Counsel to the Democratic Party of Illinois from 1993-1997. Mr. Dorf is Adjunct Full Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he developed and teaches courses in Law, Politics, and the Arts and Street Law for the Artist. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago and the School of Law of Columbia University. He is a former Chair of the Election Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association. He is currently a member of the Boards of the Illinois Humanities Council, Arts Alliance Illinois, and the Gabriella and Paul Rosenbaum Foundation. He and his wife, Maury Collins, reside in Chicago and in Lee County, Illinois.

Mr. Dumas retired from Shawnee Community College in 2000 as Vice President for Student Administrative Services. He had worked at Shawnee since 1975. Mr. Dumas currently owns an insurance company in Cairo, Illinois.

Victor P. Henderson Chicago

Victor P. Henderson is an attorney with the law firm of Holland and Knight. He is the Executive Partner in charge of the firm's Chicago office and a partner in the firm's litigation office. Mr. Henderson devotes a large part of his practice representing clients in the fields of higher education and healthcare. He is past president of the Chicago Bar Association, past president of the Illinois Equal Justice Foundation, former chair of the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms, and a former host of the television program "Inside Justice." Mr. Henderson has been appointed to fill the term of a former Board member and requires Senate confirmation.

Thomas G. Pulver Glen Ellyn

Mr. Pulver has been a faculty member at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove since 2002 and currently is a Mathematics faculty member in the Learning Enhancement Division. Mr. Pulver received his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota. The topic of his Masters thesis was "A Drill and Practice Package for English as a Second Language". Mr. Pulver resides in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

Mr. Rendleman is a businessman and farmer. He is a retired junior high school science teacher. He is a member of the John A. Logan College Board of Trustees and past president of the Illinois Community College Trustees Association. He has served as board chair and has held the offices of vice chair for two years and president of the Logan Foundation for three years and he is an honorary member of the college's Phi Theta Kappa chapter.
