Stephen was a student in the adult education class at L&C. He had been previously home schooled and wanted his GED certificate. Stephen had high scores for reading on the TABE test, but he needed help in math.
With Stephen, I used the GED-i as a supplement to the classroom materials. I immediately put Stephen on GED-i and began working with him to build his math skills. He liked working on the GED-i program and spent most of his independent study time doing that. Stephen worked in all subjects in the GED-i and completed almost all of the modules and units.
Stephen was with us for 2 semesters and took the GED tests. He scored over 3000 on the test and applied for a scholarship to attend L&C. There were several applications for the scholarship, but Stephen won and was awarded a full scholarship to attend L&C. He is currently attending college classes at L&C and intends to pursue a career in nursing.
