When Seth Fieldhouse went on a rock climbing adventure, he never dreamed it would end in catastrophe. After his fall, Seth found himself in bed, unable to walk and facing several surgeries due to his extensive injuries. Of course, he missed several months of off-campus GED classes in his hometown. His teacher, also a GED-i instructor, contacted the GED-i coordinator about the possibility of enrolling him in the online program. Seth was able to continue his studies online at home in the GED-i program until his recovery reached a level that allowed him to return to the traditional classroom. Without the distance learning option that GED-i provides, Seth would not have been able to continue studying for the GED test during his long recovery.

By graduation day, Seth had surpassed the need for GED classes, traditional or online, and he no longer needed a wheelchair. Seth walked across the stage at the GED graduation ceremony to receive his GED credential with a high passing score of 3,080!
