Faculty Technology Skills

Using prepared materials would require minimal skills - how to boot the computer, turn on a display device, open a software program, and load/run a file. Preparing material requires the ability to create presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint or a similar program. Presentations will be enhanced with use of material from the Internet, but for some applications, this is optional.

Student Technology Skills

No technology skills are required for this module; although, these "electronic flashcards" could also be put on reserve in the library, or copies could be provided to individual students. In that case, the same minimal skills necessary for faculty would apply.

Faculty Equipment

A computer with PowerPoint or other presentation software and a suitable display device for the room in question (large TV monitor or projection device and screen) are needed.

Cost

No specialized equipment is required for rooms equipped for computer-based presentation. Otherwise, a computer with presentation software, and a suitable display device would likely cost about $4000 or less.
