Improvement on Teaching and Learning

Developing the skill to send Microsoft Word documents as attachments to an e-mail address is quite a valuable asset. As long as each student has Internet access and an e-mail address, late papers should be at a minimum.

In the future, students will be able to send their résumés via the Internet when searching for a job.

Nontechnology Comparison

Students can easily turn in a hard copy of their assignments; however, sending the assignment via e-mail gives the student and the instructor more flexibility for the turn-around grade period. The student can send the paper from home, and the instructor can receive and grade it at home.

How to Use in the Classroom

This exercise will take place in the English computer laboratory where students have access to newer, faster computers. Each computer has the common processing program Microsoft Word, and the room is also equipped with a printer.
