Legislative Awareness Day- Tuesday, March 24, 2009

On May 24th, approximately 250 adult education students, staff and volunteers visited the Illinois State Capitol to meet with legislators, ICCB staff, and to participate in a rally in support of adult education. The Legislative Awareness Day was sponsored by IACEA, the Illinois Adult and Continuing Educators Association. The ICCB provides support and funding to 100 adult educator providers. It was the first opportunity for most of the students to visit the State Capitol. Several programs put up displays in the Capitol to highlight their student achievements and special programming.
